Why We Sing
We sing to share the message of God's wonderful love and to bring others to know Him as their personal Savior as we do. How can you know for certain that you are going to heaven? The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2: 8-9 that you must have sincere faith. F-A-I-T-H can be used as an acronym to lead us to salvation: The "F " in FAITH is for FORGIVENESS. The Bible tells us that we cannot have eternal live in heaven without God's forgiveness for our sins. The Bible says "In Him (meaning Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." (Ephesians 1:7)
The "A" is for AVAILABLE. His forgivenss is available to everybody. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. " (John 3:16) God's forgiveness is available for all but it is not automatic. You must ask Him for it.
The "I" is for IMPOSSIBLE. It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven. This is due to the perfect nature of God and the sinful nature of man. The Bible tells is in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." How then can anyone get to heaven where God allows no sin if we are all sinful?
The "T" is for TURN. We must be willing to turn away from our sins and turn to Jesus Christ and to Him only. "Unless you repent you shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3) Not only must we turn away from our sinful nature but we must turn to Christ, himself, who allowed himself to be crucified to pay the price for our sins. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED." (Romans 10:9) If you do this, then:
The "H" is for HEAVEN. You can have the assurance of heaven. The moment you trust in Jesus, you have the promise of eternal life in heaven with Him. This means that you can enjoy a personal relationship with Him now while you are on this earth, and throughout all eterninty to come. Jesus said "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10) In addition, you will know that when you die you will live in a place called Heaven where Jesus has said: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:3) If you would like to receive this precious gift of forgivness and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are going to heaven, then pray: "Dear Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that You rose from the grave. I now ask You to forgive me of my sins and to save my soul. I want you to come into my heart and take over my life. Amen."
If you have sincerely asked God to save you, then just have the faith that He has! The Bible also tells us not to be ashamed of Him, but to go out and tell others about your new faith in Christ Jesus. If you are not already a member of a church, then we would encourage you to join a church that believes the word of God and take this step of faith one step farther, and to be baptized. While being baptized does not save you, it is an outward display to all that you have buried the old sinful life and have been born again to a brand new life with Jesus. If the Holy Spirit has made a change in your life because of something you've read above, please let us know. We would like to put you on our prayer list to pray daily for you.
