After starting out in an early country music career as a drummer in Las Vegas, Nevada, I joined the US Air Force and came to somewhere I had never heard of called North Carolina. After a year of sitting around hating where I was and trying to fit in with my fellow sinners, I finally ran out of excuses for not going to church with one of the most persistant Christian men I have ever known, so I finally went to church with him. Thank you Brother Bill Balderson. They were having a gospel sing and the music was pretty much the same as I was used to, but the messge wasn't. It was like none I had ever heard. That was thirty eight years ago and that message of Jesus dying on the cross and rising again is stronger now than it was then. The Lord not only saved me but He also blessed me with Shirley, my lovely wife of thirty four years and two sons Chris and Jeremy who are both involved in full time Christian music and recording. I have had the privelage of serving as drummer for the original Anchormen Quartet, Cannanland, The Song Fellows, and others. I have also sung baritone with my family, The Downeys, Masters Image, and now am very happy and blessed to be the baritone for Calvary's Hill Quartet. I felt the spirit of God the very first time we sang together.
